Pre-Convention - Christian Writing — Four pre-convention writing events are offered. Youth can write a Christian Book, complete with illustrations and a cover. They may also write an essay, a fictional story, or poetry.
- Computers — Christians’ Use of the Internet —In this class, youth will actually design a live website promoting your children’s or teen ministry. This is a great opportunity to develop or use computer skills for your congregation.
- Radio Minute Message — provides the challenge of writing a thirty to sixty second radio commercial. Commercials, with a practical application of Scripture, may be recorded at home, your church building, or a local radio / television station.
- Video Bible Class Teaching — Teens have the opportunity to prepare a Bible class for children. The material will be presented to a children’s class and videotaped for review.
Challenge- Bible Reading Challenge — gives youth the opportunity to read Scripture in front of a crowd. While overcoming possible stagefright, our youth also become comfortable sharing God’s message before others.
- Daily Devotional Challenge — encourages youth to spend time with God on a daily basis. Participants learn how to journal their Bible reading each day along with their prayer list.
- Leadership Challenge — A program specifically for senior high teens, the Leadership challenge encourages ninth through twelfth graders to work with younger children and teens — sharing leadership lessons with them.
- Scripture Challenge — Youth are challenged to memorize Scripture, up to 100 verses a year.
- Service Challenge — Youth are challenged to look beyond themselves to the interests of others. A number of service project activities may be offered for a children’s ministry, teen ministry, or for individuals.
- Worship Challenge - Young men are challenged to participate in a number of leadership activities in worship.
Display Events- Bulletin Board — You could be the creator of the next bulletin board at your congregation. Learn how to take a great idea and turn it into a work of art — publicizing a Biblical truth or an upcoming event.
- Christian Art — From sketches to photography to paintings, see how any number of artistic talents can be used to capture great thoughts for God.
- Scrapbook — Pictures tell quite a story, and we’re looking for your help to put together "the year in pictures.” Learn how to put those memories together and save favorite moments for years to come.
Convention Events- Bible Bowl — Through in-depth study, students are challenged to greater knowledge of Scripture. This year’s theme carries our Bible Bowlers through the book of I Samuel.
- Chorus — Children and teen choruses help our youth grow in their knowledge and appreciation of worship in song.
- Modern Drama — Teens learn how to reach others through drama ministry. You may cover a good bit of ground, from writing to performing skits.
- Puppets — remain one of the greatest ways of teaching children with the message of Christ. Learn how to write and develop techniques in working with puppets.
- Signing and Interpreting for the Deaf — Through sign language, there is a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus with the hearing impaired.
- Song leading — Guys and girls discover and develop song leading skills. Classes include music education as well as theory in leading worship.
- Spanish Interpretation—Spanish is the most popular foreign language spoken in the US. It also is the primary language for a large number of mission points. Learn about the Spanish culture as well as key verses to share
with someone. - Speech — Guys and girls begin with an idea and develop it into a three to six minute speech. In developing the speech, students may learn a number of techniques, from outlining a speech to sharing an illustration.
